Thank the TV Gods for Fox Channel & Cable
Well, last weekend was the dividing point between the regular TV season and the summer season of programming as well as goodbye forever to some seriously good shows, 24, Law & Order and Lost:( I used to dread the summers as it was like a TV waste land with nothing but re-runs, nothing new fresh or interesting from June till Sept. So boring!
I have also noticed that even during the regular season the network channels have been hard pressed for a while now to come up with good shows that will stand the test of time as Law & Order (20 yrs!) and 24 (8/9 yrs). At the same time Fox channel has become known for airing great new cutting edge shows that are attracting viewers and the rating indicate that the viewers continue to tune in. This has made regular prime time programming much more interesting in the last few years.
Because of this I have resorted to checking out what is on the cable stations and I have become a fan of some of them like USA, TNT, FX and A&E and the shows they feature. They are also smart to break up their series to run throughout the year; airing a string of shows then stopping and starting them up again. Also, staggering the shows so there is great programs to watch throughout the year and fills the summer void.
Tonight starts the next run for two of my favorite USA shows Burn Notice and Royal Pains, Burn Notice is an adrenalin driven show that will keep you at the edge of your sit and then Royal Pains will help you decompress with a funny and fresh new concept show.
I decided not to do real time blogging while I watch them tonight as I wanted to get the total experience. I will let you know what I think of the first show of the new season for these shows.
