How to be an Office Hobo

Comments Off on How to be an Office Hobo

For many years I lived in a $400 office suite. I lived in a few of them and they were around 200 sq ft give or take. It was a great way to live comfortable for very cheap. You can get these offices in some of the best parts of the city and hardly anyone knows about it.

The best places to find offices are Craigslist and Loopnet. Craigslist works the best for me.

Then you want to make sure you get a futon that doesn’t look too funtony. Click here for some great options… something like this one.

It’s a good idea to have a nice sized ottoman to put your blankets and pillows in. Great options here. Check out this one that doubles as a coffee table

Make sure you have a wardrobe closet to keep your clothes nice, and also hidden away. Infact I’d put a nice sign on it that says “Office Supplies”. This one looks real nice. Check it out.

Then you want to top it off with a small office fridge and microwave.

Now you’re ready to live easy. Paying only $400 a month in rent allows you to be more free and relaxed. Gives you time to pursue the things you REALLY want to do in life.

One last bit of advice. You will need to say you have a business and then maintain that story the whole time you live there. If they ever ask you why are you there so much, or why so late, just say you have clients overseas and you need to match their hours. In all the years I lived in an office I was never asked the question. You can say you have an internet marketing company, or you’re a writer, you work remotely, sales rep for an international company, etc etc.

If you choose to go this route I really hope it works for you and you are free as a bird to pursue the things that matter in life…
