To use chopsticks, hold one chopstick between your thumb and your middle, ring, and little fingers. The chopstick should be resting on your middle finger and pointing upwards. Hold the other chopstick between your thumb and your index finger, with the chopstick resting on your index finger and pointing downwards.
To pick up food, use the chopstick that is pointing downwards to hold the food in place, while using the other chopstick to gently lift the food and transfer it to your mouth. You can also use the chopstick that is pointing downwards to push food onto the other chopstick for easier handling.
It may take some practice to get used to using chopsticks, but with a little patience and practice, you will be able to master this skill. Some people find it helpful to use a small amount of food as a “dummy” to practice picking up and transferring with the chopsticks, before moving on to actual food.
